After that, Bolzano controlled the game and, apart from a few uncertainties, hardly allowed any chances.

Five minutes before the second half-time break things got even better for the people of Bolzano: the recovered Monardo intercepted a Villach attack, ran alone towards Kickert and increased the score to 4-1. In terms of play, the Carinthians had little to counter them - instead of playing with class, the VSV stood out more through repeated taunts and provocations. The Foxes were secure at the back and even had the opportunity to score their fifth goal of the evening in the many outnumbered situations that presented themselves.
