Tame Foxes end Graz's series of defeats

In the sparsely occupied Merkur Ice Stadium it was only exciting for a short time: namely when Colton Hargrove equalized with a Sunday shot. Otherwise, the South Tyroleans never really found their way into the game. Anton Bernard analyzed harshly: “We played arrogantly and stubbornly.”

This goal woke up Clayton Beddoes' team. She tried to set her own tone and it paid off: Luca Frigo and Colton Hargrove combined from their own zone to the opponent's zone, where the American Thomas Höneckl overcame with a well-placed wrist shot. The draw at the first break was nevertheless flattering from the Foxes' point of view, as Graz had more of the game.

The tide didn't turn after the break: The 99ers remained in command and, thanks to Oliver Setzinger's goal, consequently made it 2-1. This time there was no response from Anthony Bardaro & Co. - things were rarely dangerous in front of Höneckl. The scoring chances on the other side also decreased, but negligence paved the way for the home team to make it 3-1: After the Foxes lost the puck while going forward, three Grazers ran towards Irving's goal and Philipp Lindner finished with a well-placed shot into the corner. Once again, Setzinger shone as an assist provider.

The HCB couldn't find its way into the game in the last section either and after Dwight King's goal to make it 4-1, the roast was eaten. Although the people of Talferstadt didn't give up, in the end there was simply not enough. The Beddoes team suffered a deserved defeat, while Graz ended the losing streak that had lasted six games. Tame Foxes end Graz's series of defeats

A weak HCB Südtirol Alperia couldn't get going at all against the struggling Graz 99ers on Friday evening. The Foxes presented themselves with no ideas on offense and holes in defense - the Graz victory was well deserved.
