Two sports stars help out with the Red Cross

They lend a helping hand wherever they can, bringing groceries home, picking up doctor's prescriptions or getting medication from pharmacies. Laura Letrari and Marco Insam have committed themselves to a special commitment. “We can only do dry training at the moment, so there is still time to support people in need. And unfortunately there are a lot of them these days,” says Letrari, whose grandfather was president of the White and Red Cross in Brixen for decades. She didn't have to use any persuasion to get her boyfriend to join in. “Marco was immediately enthusiastic about the idea,” reveals Letrari.

The 2012 Olympic participant and the vice-captain of HC Bozen are doing their work for the Red Cross in Bozen. They are busy from Monday to Friday. “But that shouldn’t be a big deal,” says Insam, who does this primarily out of charity: “We don’t want to put ourselves in the spotlight, we just want to help where help is needed at the moment.” Whether wanted or not, with their action Letrari and Insam set a good example and may encourage one or two people to join in.
