Ingolstadt ensures a brilliant start to the DolomitenCup

The opening game between the German runner-up and the traditional club from the Czech capital was played at a high level from the start. There was no trace of training fatigue on either team. The ERC Ingolstadt, which featured former HC Bozen crack Danny Irmen and last year's EBEL top scorer Brian Lebler, was initially pushed onto the defensive. However, Bayern still managed to score the opening goal. In the 8th minute, Brandon Buck scored from close range to make it 1-0. Sparta's reaction didn't take long to arrive: of all people, former Ingolstadt player Robert Sabolic took advantage of the game's first advantage situation to make it 13-1 in the 1th minute. Just three minutes later, a lack of attention in the ERC's build-up led to Sparta Prague's second goal. Lukas Pech put his team in front for the first time.

Ingolstadt doesn't let up After the first break, Ingolstadt got better into the game and pushed vehemently for the equalizer, but Sparta goalie Pöpperle mostly proved to be an insurmountable obstacle. The deals from Taticek, Barta, Buch and Ross were all unsuccessful. So it happened that the hard rubber disc hit the Ingolstadt goal again in the 36th minute. Miroslav Forman made it 3-1 on the power play. However, just two minutes later, ERC striker Irmen restored the one-goal gap.

Lebler becomes the match winner In the final period, Sabolic missed his second goal before Ingolstadt took the reins again. After a missed chance by Buck, Patrick McNeill hammered the puck from the blue line into the top corner. At this point 53 minutes had been played. However, the DEL runner-up was not satisfied with the overdue equalizer and continued to press the accelerator. The result? The 4:3 by Brian Lebler. The Canadian, who had been very error-prone to date, became the match winner in the 55th minute with a fine individual move. Sparta Prague's final offensive failed to materialize, meaning Ingolstadt's entry into the final was in the clear. The German first division team will play on Sunday against the winner of the second semi-final between the Kloten Flyers and Adler Mannheim (Saturday, 20 p.m.) for tournament victory. Sparta Prague will compete in the “small final” on the final day of the tournament.

Ingolstadt ensures a brilliant start to the DolomitenCup

The 10th edition of the International DolomitesCup opened in Neumarkt on Friday evening. In the first semi-final, ERC Ingolstadt and the prestigious HC Sparta Prague delivered a thrilling duel to the 890 spectators in the Würtarena. In the end, the DEL club won 4:3.
