14th goal of the season from McDavid – Vegas number one in the league

Leon Draisaitl has returned to success with the Edmonton Oilers after three defeats in a row in the North American ice hockey league NHL. On Tuesday (local time), last season's playoff semi-finalists achieved a 3:2 (1:1, 2:0, 0:1) away win against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Germany's 2020 Sportsman of the Year scored a goal in the fifth game in a row.

At the beginning of the second period, Draisaitl gave Edmonton a 3-1 lead on the power play, and two minutes before that, Connor McDavid was also successful on the power play with his 14th goal of the season. McDavid (29 scoring points) and Draisaitl (26) continue to occupy the top two spots on the NHL scoring list. Draisaitl's teammate Evander Kane had to be taken to the hospital: The attacker suffered a bleeding cut on his wrist from a skid in the second third.

Minnesota Wild with Marco Rossi from Vorarlberg also lost the second duel of the season with the Los Angeles Kings in the North American ice hockey league NHL. After losing 6-7 at home in October, Minnesota lost 0-1 in California on Tuesday. Rossi was on the ice for just over twelve minutes. Gabriel Vilardi (54th) scored the winning goal for the hosts in the 54th minute. Wild star striker Kirill Kaprisow had to go to the dressing room early in the middle third with a game misconduct penalty.

Tim Stützle also scored on Tuesday, his fourth goal of the season, but the German and the Ottawa Senators were defeated at home by the Vancouver Canucks 4:6 (2:1, 0:1, 2:4). Stützle made it 3-4 from the majority in the final third, and the 20-year-old defender also set up the 2-1 lead in the first third.

Moritz Seider and the Detroit Red Wings lost 2:3 (1:2, 0:0, 1:0) to the Montreal Canadiens after a penalty shootout. JJ Peterka suffered a 1:4 (1:2, 0:0, 0:2) home defeat against the Arizona Coyotes with the Buffalo Sabres. And goalkeeper Thomas Greiss has had to wait eight games for a win after a 1:5 (0:0, 0:3, 1:2) against the Philadelphia Flyers.

The Vegas Golden Knights beat the Maple Leafs 4-3 after overtime in Toronto and lead the league with twelve wins from 14 games. The New Jersey Devils are at the top of the Metropolitan Division after a 3-2 win over the Calgary Flames, their seventh win in a row.
