The “Euro Ice Hockey Challenge” is entering the second round

After the “Blue Team” didn’t put in the best figure in the fall, coach Clayton Beddoes’ team is looking to make amends at the second international showdown. The World Cup awaits the Italian national team in May and they want to stay in class for the first time since 2007.

But first, Alex Frei & Co. are concentrating on the matches against Slovenia, Hungary and Belarus. Even though Italy is the only one of the nations mentioned that will take part in the World Cup in Slovakia, these opponents can be seen as real benchmarks.

Head coach Clayton Beddoes has nominated 26 players for the tournament. It is noticeable that the coaching team is again increasingly relying on Italian-Canadians: In addition to Jacob Smith, Phil Pietroniro, Marco Rosa and Anthony Bardaro, who have already made their debut for the “Blue Team”, the two Bolzano players Angelo Miceli and Alex Petan have also been appointed convened.

At the “Euro Ice Hockey Challenge” in Bled, the “Blue Team” is getting the finishing touches for the World Championships in May. In contrast to the first EIHC in Budapest, the HCB cracks are also on board.
