Italy announces expanded World Cup squad

On April 8th, the “Azzurri” will start their World Cup preparations under the leadership of head coach Clayton Beddoes. Now it is also known which players can hope for a travel ticket to Budapest. There are initially 43 cracks who are in the provisional World Cup squad - more than half of them, namely 24, come from South Tyrol. Many of them are still in action with their clubs in the playoffs and will therefore miss the start of preparation.

At the end of the training camp, which is held in the Würtarena in Neumarkt, Beddoes has to cross numerous players off his list and finally announce his final squad.

Four test games should also provide information. Italy competes against Austria twice, and their direct World Cup opponent Kazakhstan awaits the “Azzurri” twice.
