The NHL playoffs are getting closer and closer

In the best ice hockey league in the world, the NHL, four more teams qualified for the play-offs after the New York Rangers on Friday night.

The New York Rangers are the first team to have already qualified for the Stanley Cup play-offs. Now four other teams have followed them into the hot phase: the Boston Bruins, Carolina Hurricanes, Florida Panthers and Dallas Stars.


While the Bruins and Panthers lost their games but can no longer be caught, the Hurricanes (4-0 against the Detroit Red Wings) and the Stars (3-1 at the Vancouver Canucks) each celebrated victories. In the coming days, two other teams, the Canucks and the Colorado Avalanche, could make the play-offs perfect.

Oilers celebrate important victory

The Edomonton Oilers led by German superstar Leon Draisaitl celebrated an important 4-1 home win against the Los Angeles Kings on Friday night. Draisaitl was involved in the 2-0 lead at the end of the second and 3-0 lead at the beginning of the third period with an assist, and the Cologne native also contributed the 4-1 decision to Los Angeles' empty goal in the final minute. This is the sixth time this season that Draisaitl has had three assists in one game.
