Edmonton Oilers lose despite two Draisaitl assists

Edmonton lost 3:4 (1:2, 1:1, 1:1) on Saturday (local time) and repeatedly failed because of Ducks goalkeeper Lukas Dostal. The Czech made 46 saves from the start in just his sixth NHL appearance. In the final third alone, the Oilers shot 23 times at the Ducks' goal, who in turn only had 17 shots on goal in the entire game.

Draisaitl remained without a goal, but prepared two goals, including the 3-3 equalizer by his congenial teammate Connor McDavid. He now leads the league with 28 goals and 62 goal participations.

Moritz Seider and the Detroit Red Wings lost their home game against the Ottawa Senators 3:6. The Senators missed German attacker Tim Stützle due to a shoulder injury. Seider remained without a goal, as did JJ Peterka in his Buffalo Sabers' 5:2 defeat at the Arizona Coyotes and Nico Sturm in his San Jose Sharks' 2:3 defeat after a penalty shootout at the Los Angeles Kings.

Even without a goal from Alexander Ovetschkin, the Washington Capitals won 5-2 at home against the Toronto Maple Leafs in the National Hockey League (NHL) on Saturday (local time). This week, Ovetschkin reached 800 goals in the North American ice hockey league, only one shy of Gordie Howe, who is second in this statistic. Wayne Gretzky tops this list with 894 goals.

The New York Rangers celebrated their sixth win in a row with a 6-3 win over the Philadelphia Flyers with a strong team performance, with six different players on the list. At least the Tampa Bay Lightning managed their fifth success en suite, at the start of a four-game away trip the Montreal Canadiens were put in their place 5-1.
