Jaromir Jagr says goodbye to the NHL

As the Calgary Flames from the North American NHL announced, the 45-year-old will move to his home club HC Kladno in the Czech Republic. For the two-time Stanley Cup winner, this could mean the end of his NHL career. In 22 games with the Flames this season, Jagr only recorded one goal and six assists. However, due to an injury, the exceptional player has not been on the ice since December 31st.

“I would like to thank (general manager) Brad Treliving and the Calgary Flames for giving me the opportunity to be a part of their team and continue my NHL career this season,” said Jagr, who made an Oct. 4 appearance Signed a one-year contract with the Canadian team. “I’m now looking forward to continuing the season in Kladno.” HC Kladno currently plays in the second Czech league. Jagr has been the club's main owner since 2011.

With 1921 scoring points (766 goals and 1155 assists), Jagr is in second place on the NHL's all-time best list. Only legend Wayne Gretzky has more points with 2857. In addition, the 1998 Olympic champion has played 1733 NHL games in his career; only two players have had more appearances in the best ice hockey league in the world. He played his first NHL game on October 5, 1990.

During a “lockout” in the 1994/95 season, Jagr put on the HC Bozen jersey. At the Italian record champions he delighted the fans with 6 goals and 8 assists in 8 competitive appearances.
