Kevin Mitchell and Domenic Perna switch to the Ritten

Kevin Mitchell, born in 1980, has been playing in Europe since 2004 and comes to Serie A from the Austrian EBEL league. His former employer is Villach. The defender began his sporting career in the OHL, from where he moved to the AHL in the 2000/01 season. Until 2004, Mitchell played alternately in the second highest American professional league, or ECHL. In total, he made 112 appearances in the AHL (38 points) and 125 in the ECHL (97 points).

The move to Europe took place in the summer of 2004. Kevin Mitchell joined the Iserlohn Roosters in the DEL, where he collected a whopping 50 points in 37 matches. The following year, the defender went to the Vienna Capitals in the EBEL before playing in the AHL (2006 games) and DEL (ten appearances) in the 07/45 season. Mitchell then put on the Olimpia Lubiana jersey until 2010, but was also briefly used in the NLA at Rapperswil (six matches) and in the Czech league (HC Pardubice/also six games). The 31-year-old has played for Villach for the past two years. In total, he played 312 games in the EBEL, in which he scored 60 times and provided 173 assists.

Perna, Wilson's dream player

The new Italian-Canadian attacker is probably much better known to fans of Italian ice hockey. This is Domenic Perna, who has played in the Italian second division for the past four years. The 35-year-old from Montreal played for Val Gardena for two years and for Neumarkt for the past two years. In 192 games, including 26 matches for Vipiteno in the 2004/05 season, Perna collected 428 points (178 goals, 250 assists).

Domenic Perna, who is a dream player for Coach Wilson, can also point to 16 appearances in the Alpine League for Asiago and Fassa (1998/1999), as well as one game for the Trentino club in the 2010/11 season in Serie A, as he even scored a goal.

Thomas Pichler from Ritten Sport says goodbye

With these two commitments, Ritten Sport Renault Trucks has completed its squad planning for the coming season. The club management also announced that the contract with striker Thomas Pichler would not be extended. “We wish Thomas Pichler the best and thank him for his support and the commitment he showed at Ritten last season,” said Ritten’s managing director Thomas Rottensteiner.

Ritten Sport Renault Trucks has struck twice on the transfer market and secured the services of US defender Kevin Mitchell and Italian-Canadian attacker Domenic Perna. Meanwhile, Thomas Pichler will be leaving the high plateau.
