Lots of intra-country duels on AHL Saturday

For the fifth time this season, HC Neumarkt and HC Gherdeina will cross bats on Saturday. Both teams celebrated their last victories against each other at the end of December 2017 and the beginning of January 2018. Since then, the two domestic league rivals have remained without points. It is also a duel between two neighbors in the table: the Wildgänse are in 15th place, the Furie are 14th. Kamil Brabenec from Neumarkt will have to stay away from the derby. He was suspended for three games by DOPS for two offenses - a crosscheck and an interference.

Meanwhile, in the Weihenstephan Arena, WSV Vipiteno wants to take revenge on runner-up Asiago. The “Yellow-Reds” won the last four meetings, including just ten days ago in Vipiteno, after overtime. Asiago is currently riding a wave of success and has won all of its last eleven games. In second place, Asiago is the first Ritten hunter and is clearly on course for the playoffs. Sterzing is currently in seventh place. The wild horses also presented themselves on fire in their last two victories against the latecomers HC Gherdeina (5:1) and HC Neumarkt (6:4) and scored eleven times in 120 minutes.

Pustertal and Cortina will meet in the Rienz Stadium on Saturday. After Cortina initially had the upper hand twice, the Wolves recently won twice. The two teams recently showed different faces. Cortina lost the last five games and fell out of the top 8. Bruneck, on the other hand, recently resembled a real fortress: The Wolves have won all nine home games since the beginning of November 2017. Most recently, however, the HCP remained without a goal or points after six wins in a row in Ritten.
