Matt Zaba is leaving HC Bozen after two seasons

Matt Zaba is moving to the Vienna Capitals

Canadian goalkeeper Matt Zaba is leaving HC Bozen and moving to the Vienna Capitals in the EBEL. The Italian record champions couldn't keep up with the Austrians' offer and had to let Zaba go. “We would of course have liked to keep him, but we also know that the good players from overseas see our club as a springboard to promote themselves to a strong European league. Last year Danny Irmen moved to the Austrian champions Linz, Colton Fretter and this year Brandon Rogers went to the DEL, Zaba is now moving to Vienna. That means we have worked well and, like last year, will try to compensate for these departures with new, young, motivated players," promises HCB managing director Dieter Knoll.
