The sixth final act in the traveling series between Val Gardena and Milan took place on Friday evening in the Pranives Stadium in Wolkenstein. The Ladin team were able to rely on all squad players in the last home game of the season, while Milan Migliavacca had to miss out for work reasons.

The Val Gardena team started the encounter incredibly aggressively and found their first chance to score after just 55 seconds. Benjamin Kostner directed the puck into the net, but the referees did not recognize the goal. Val Gardena didn't let up and pushed Milan well in front of their own goal. The guests only became dangerous through two lightning-fast counterattacks; both Lo Presti and later Kloude were unsuccessful in a one-on-one with Val Gardena's goalkeeper Großgasteiger. The game then petered out. It was only a wrist shot from Thomas Spinell that hit the crossbar that caused a wake-up call for the Val Gardena team, who then took over the game control again after a short break. Schaafsma and Wallenberg failed because of Terrazzano. After 18.25:1, the Milan goalie had to admit defeat for the first time when Schaafsma put Benjamin Kostner in the spotlight and he slotted in from close range. Val Gardena went into the first break with a 0-XNUMX lead.

Both teams started very cautiously in the second third before Milan stepped on the accelerator for the first time after a few minutes. First, the Lombards took the Val Gardena goal under constant fire in the power play, then, after 27.32:1, Constant hit the mark for the first time. The Milanese gave Großgasteiger the advantage with a low shot from the blue line. Just a few moments later, Peruzzo, standing alone in front of the home team's goal, missed. Towards the middle of the second third, Lo Presti left the South Tyrolean fans breathless again with a bang against the post. Val Gardena found it difficult to break away from Milan's grip and, even when in the majority, was unable to exert sustained pressure. On the other side, Caletti caused danger with another quick countermove. Großgasteiger saved his team from 1-XNUMX with another strong save.

The tension came to a head in the third period of the game: both teams now rarely ventured on the offensive and repeatedly found themselves entangled in exhausting duels in the middle of the ice. Wunderer and Ansoldi each cautiously approached the opposing goal. Meanwhile, Wallenberg provided the few highlights for Val Gardena with two dangerous scenes. While the hosts were waiting for the third siren to sound, Milan really turned up the heat in the last three minutes of the game and came extremely close to the winning goal twice through Klouda and Caletti. However, Großgasteiger kept his box tight and forced the two opponents into extra time.

Milan's pressure phase continued at the beginning of overtime, but Val Gardena gradually recovered and narrowly missed the winning goal twice with Kevin Senoner and Schaafsma. Both teams no longer risked any penalty minutes and let the puck run quickly through their own ranks - but this didn't change the result: even after 20 minutes of extra time, both teams held to one goal each. In the opening phase of the second overtime, Großgasteiger had to outdo himself twice before the Milanese team sealed the game and this year's Serie A82.12 championship after 2 minutes: Captain Migliore powered through and hit the top corner with a precise shot. This was the death knell for HC Gherdeina and at the same time the start of the Milan championship celebrations.
