HC Neumarkt achieved a safe home win in the top game of the 16th round of the championship against SV Kaltern. The Unterlanders were able to put together their best line-up, while their local rivals from Überetsch were missing Daniel Spinell and Ruben Rampazzo. After five wins in a row, the home team went into the game with a big chest and put Kaltern under pressure from the start. After 6.30 minutes, Michael Sullmann converted the advantage into 1-0. However, Neumarkt remained in control and made it 3-0 at the beginning of the second third with a quick double strike from Flavio Faggioni and again Michael Sullmann. Even before the second third siren, Nick Bonino used a power play to increase the score to 4-0. In the final period of the game, Lorenz Röggl scored a consolation goal in the power play, but Neumarkt did not let himself be dissuaded and restored the four-goal lead through Matteo Peiti. HC Eppan has to vacate its place in the sun after a 2:3 home defeat against Meran. The absence of Patrick Wallenberg, who has to be sidelined for at least six weeks after breaking his leg, was noticeable at Eppan. Meran, on the other hand, had to give up striker Michael Stocker again. The Pirates tried to take the scepter into their hands right from the start, but Meran bravely stood up to the home team and repeatedly provided relief attacks. The spectators had to wait until the 27th minute before Daniel Rizzi was the first to get on the scoresheet. The Eppaners benefited from a situation of superior numbers. The Passerstadt team made up for the deficit before the second break: Tobias Ebner, also in the power play, made it 1-1. The game was extremely even until half of the final third, but then Meran tightened the reins and took the lead through Michele Ciresa. After 54.25 minutes, Thomas Mitterer even extended the lead to 3:1. But again only two minutes passed and Eppan found its way back into the game thanks to captain David Ceresa's goal (power play). The Pirates now gained new courage, although it was already too late to successfully catch up. Meran took the one-goal lead over time and thus pushed the Überetscher from the top of the table.

The Broncos achieved a real victory against bottom team Pergine on matchday 16. The Wipptalers had to make do without Alex Lanz, but were able to call on Daniel Maffia and TJ Caig again. Pergine supplemented his already full squad with Peter Wunderer and Stefano Piva from HC Bozen. In the first third the encounter was initially evenly matched, as Vipiteno did not understand how to capitalize on its numerical advantage. EV Bozen landed their next coup in the away game in Val Gardena. The in-form Talferstadt team, who competed without Christian Timpone and Daniele Da Ponte, benefited, among other things, from the failures of Fabrizio Senoner, Ivan Demetz, Oliver Schenk and Joel Brugnoli on the Val Gardena side. It was the home team who started off strong and took the lead after just 33 seconds. The 1-0 by Fabrizio Senoner was followed by the Ladin team's second goal by Rupert Stampfer after nine minutes. However, the EVB never gave up and equalized in the first third: first Stanislav Jasecko, then Dylan Stanley reduced the deficit to 2-2. It was also the beginning of the one-man show of the Canadian attacker, who became the sole entertainer in the middle section and shot the Bolzano team 12-13 ahead with his goals number 4 and 2 of the season. Battisti and Co. completed the “threesome” at the beginning of the third period: First Jasecko scored in the power play, then the outstanding Stanley even made it 6-2 when he was outnumbered. In return, Ryan Gaucher formally reduced the score to 3:6. Benjamin Kostner only made it 4:6 38 seconds before the end, when the Bolzano players had already started to celebrate.

With a 6-1 win against Kaltern, the “Wildgänse” sail to the top of the table and at the same time benefit from Eppan’s home defeat against Meran. In the other two games, Vipiteno prevailed against Pergine and EV Bozen in Wolkenstein.
