Only one South Tyrolean team makes it to the Italian Cup semi-finals

The most explosive knockout duel took place in the Eppan ice stadium, where the Pirates hosted their local rivals from Kaltern. However, the home team made short work of it and was already leading 3-0 at half the game. In the end, the HCE won 4-1 and thus secured their ticket to the semi-finals.

The Eppaners are the only South Tyrolean representative who made it to the semi-finals. HC Meran surprisingly lost to Pergine 3:6 after a weak final third, while the Aurora Frogs lost 2:4 to HC Fiemme in Cavelese.
