One thing in particular stood out: While Boyle revealed major weaknesses when it came to hidden shots in the first few months of his Foxes engagement, he always found a way to parry them in the end. The many rebounds that almost characterized his game have also decreased significantly. It is uncertain whether Bolzano's regular number 1 has finally won the internal competition with Justin Fazio. What is certain, however, is that the HCB can now (finally) rely on Kevin Boyle, who is slowly but surely confirming the early praises. The relegated one Ville Korhonen (HC Gherdëina) 15 goals, 22 assists, 37 points – in 26 games. If you look at Ville Korhonen's statistics, you could conclude: The club management of HC Gherdëina has managed a transfer coup. At second glance it becomes clear: the Finn has recently lost a lot of his strength after a good start to the season - and can't even begin to fill the hole opened up by Matt Wilkins. The HCG fans knew that it would be impossible to adequately replace the Canadian, who moved to EHC Winterthur in the Swiss second division in the summer. With the signing of Korhonen, it was still hoped that they would have landed an experienced photographer who would score the important goals. While these hopes were fulfilled at the beginning of the season, disillusionment has now set in. The 34-year-old has only found the back of the net once in the last nine games, despite playing on the same line as the exceptional Brad McGowan. That's not enough to hide other deficits, such as weakness in ice skating. The HCG's hope must be that Korhonen will soon return to his autumn form, otherwise things could get unpleasant in the fight for the playoffs.
