The duel between Dynamo Pardubice and the former Dynamo Berlin, now called Eisbären, gave the fans another real treat. Both teams were in the final for the first time - and both teams threw everything into the balance to win it. Accordingly, it was initially a duel at eye level in which the two defensive lines excelled. After the first break, things really took off: The Eisbären came out of the locker room with real energy and took the lead after just 62 seconds through Kevin Clark. The Canadian veteran scored from the slot to make it 1-0 for the DEL club. Immediately afterwards, Jan Nijenhuis had the chance to make it 2-0, but his finish was not crowned with success.
