HC Pustertal continues on the road to success in the play-offs. The yellow-blacks won game 2 4-1. Eleven months after the seemingly endless final game that finally gave Asiago the championship title, both teams faced each other again in a play-off game at the Odegar Stadium. The home team fielded exactly the same team as on Saturday in Bruneck and sent Grieco, Bergstrom and Intranuovo back to the stands as surplus foreigners. In addition to Captain Kelly, the South Tyroleans were also missing Max Oberrauch, who was sidelined due to a minor shoulder injury. Coach Kivelä therefore had to rebuild all of the forward lines. This was particularly noticeable in the first third, when the HCP was rarely able to pose a goal threat. However, Asiago also found its way into the game slowly. Towards the end of the first third the game had to be stopped for a long time. After the restart, Giulio Scandello gave Asiago the goalie a miss and made it 1-0 (16.54). The Wolves now seemed to have got a taste for it, as David Ling converted a pass from Scandella to make it 2-0 at the start of the second third. In the final minutes, Bolzano could not be denied the victory and secured its second quarter-final victory against the Trentino team.

Second victory in the second play-out game for Ritten Sport in the South Tyrolean relegation duel against the Broncos Vipiteno. Greg Holst's team won the Weihenstephan Arena with a spectacular 4:3 after extra time and therefore seems to have relegation in the bag. The home side were without the ill Ryan Ginand today, while the visitors were without Fauster (he was banned for eight games after intentionally tripping a linesman). Josef Niederstätter played in goal again, Karol Krizan had to sit on the bench. Ritten got off to a dream start and was already leading 2-0 after just five minutes. First Tudin and May missed two good chances to score, then Mac Faulkner scored 3.52-1 in the 0 minute mark. 50 seconds later, Dan Tudin increased the score to 2-0. Vipiteno coach Hicks called for a timeout to wake up his team. However, he only partially succeeded in this; more than three possibilities with Sottsas, Kofler and Southern did not appear. After the first break, Vipiteno picked up speed and put Ritten under pressure. Gelech hit the outside post, Wieser failed to hit the crossbar. The guests, on the other hand, played on the counterattack: After Delmore failed due to Tragust, Matteo Rasom scored on a pass from Lorenz Daccordo to make it 3-0. The encounter seemed decided, but Vipiteno made it even more exciting in the last five minutes. Josh Prudden completed a quick counter move to make it 1:3. Just 41 seconds later, Randall Gelech tied the score with a well-placed shot under the crossbar. Now suddenly there was real fire in the encounter again. With the last final offensive, Vipiteno equalized. With 22 seconds left, Prudden hit the mark again. However, the euphoria in the stands of the Weihenstephan Arena was put to an end in extra time when Tudin scored the sudden-death goal after 67.32 minutes and Ritten secured the victory.
