Ritten confirms almost the entire defense

Christian Borgatello is entering its fourth season on the Ritten. The 35-year-old grew up at HC Meran, but can also look back on experience abroad in Scotland, England and Székesfehérvár. In the local ice hockey scene, “Skizzo” is known as a trophy hunter, having collected numerous titles with Milan, Bozen and Ritten. He has been wearing the Buam jersey since 2014, where he has collected 165 points in 144 championship appearances. With Ritten he won four titles in three seasons. In 2015 he won the Italian Cup, last year the Serie A title and this year he won the double of the Italian and AHL championship titles.

A defender will also be there next year Roland Hofer . The 26-year-old from Vipiteno moved from HC Bozen to Klobenstein last year. Hofer previously played in Finland for six years, where he made his debut in the HIFK Helsiniki U2007 team in 20. He then defended for Sport Vaasa, Heki and Peelistat in the Mestis Championship (2nd League). In a total of 160 league games he had 26 points scorer (5 goals and 21 assists). Thanks to his consistent performances, Hofer also made it into the Italian national team. He has been playing for the “Squadra Azzurra” since 2011. The 1,82 m tall and 90 kg defender showed a strong performance in his first season at Ritten and scored 49 points (27 goals, 5 assists) in 22 championship games.

The four local 22-year-olds were also confirmed Ivan Tauferer , Andreas Albert , Max Ploner and Christoph Vigl . All four grew up in Ritten and always played in their regular team.

Fabian Ebner However, the “Buam” leaves. He wants to start studying in the future and therefore take a shorter time. In addition to Ritten, Ebner also played for his hometown club Eppan during his career. Both last year and this year, the 25-year-old made a significant contribution to “Buam” winning the title. Ebner won the Italian championship twice and this year's AHL championship with Ritten in two seasons. The Rittners have already found a replacement for the Eppan defender in Brad Cole.
