Ritten wins 6:5 in Feldkirch and extends the league lead

Ritten started on Tuesday evening with a weakened substitute, coach Riku Lethonen once again had to do without the five injured regular players Alex Frei, Fabian Ebner, Andreas Alber, Markus Spinell and Kevin Fink. The home team, however, was missing striker Smail Samardzic. The “Buam” got off to a dream start and were already leading 13-2 after 0 minutes. Victor Ahlström gave the Italian champions a 1-0 lead in the sixth minute (Draschkowitz was in the penalty box) on a pass from captain Christian Borgatello. Seven minutes later, Julian Kostner made it 2-0 with his fourth goal of the season. Before the first break, Feldkirch scored with Daniel Fekete to make it 1-2.

At the start of the middle third, Ritten pulled ahead to 4-1. The goals were scored by Alexander Eisath (22.05) and Philipp Pechlaner (28.08). It was the first league goal ever for the 17-year-old striker. But Feldkirch didn't give up and made it 74:3 in just 4 seconds. First, former Val Gardena defender Steve Birnstill scored in the power play (Johannes Fauster was in the cooler), then Diethard Winzig also got on the scoresheet. However, four minutes before the second half-time break, Thomas Spinell restored the two-goal lead with the goal to make it 5:3.

In the final third, Victor Ahlström, outnumbered (Ploner outside), increased the lead to 6:3, but again the home team came back in just 54 seconds with goals from the former EV Bozen player, or from Neumarkt and Val Gardena, Dylan Stanley (48.38), and Patrick Maier (49.32) closes to 5:6. Feldkirch then threw everything forward, but the Rittner defense stood firm and secured the victory.

The Rittner's next championship game will take place on Saturday, December 3rd. Pustertal, second in the table, will be guests in Klobenstein at 18.30 p.m.
