Ritten helps the wolves - Kaltern celebrates in the derby

SV Kaltern – HC Eppan The most prestigious duel of the 20th matchday took place in the Raiffeisen Arena, which became the scene of a much celebrated derby victory for the Hechte. They brought their favorite local rivals Eppan to their knees 5:3. The decisive factor for Kalterer's victory was an outstanding middle third, in which the home team struck four times and pulled away to 5-1. As a result, Eppan could only shorten the score.

HC Pustertal – Hockey Milano Rossoblu

The almost 1.200 spectators in Bruneck's Rienzstadion also got their money's worth, as they were treated to an open exchange of blows between the HCP and their table neighbors Milan. The guests took the lead several times, but the outstanding Viktor Schweitzer (3 goals) and Armand Berzins (2) had the right answers in the end and sent both teams into extra time with their goals to make it 5:5. There, Philip-Michael Devos became the match winner. After a pass from his own goalkeeper, he scored to make it 6:5. The Wolves are now closing in on leaders Asiago.

HC Asiago – Ritten Sport

The otherwise strong home team from Veneto had to admit defeat to the Rittner Buam in front of their home team. The reigning champions from Klobenstein offered a convincing performance and largely kept the Asiago offensive in check. Simon Kostner, double goalscorer Dan Tudin and Eric Johansson secured the 4-3 victory in the end. The goals from Dan Sullivan, Kevin DeVergilio and Dave Borrelli were not enough for Asiago to win the point.

WSV Vipiteno – HC Valpellice

Pustertal and Ritten received help on Thursday evening from WSV Vipiteno, who beat fourth-placed Valpellice 6-3. The Broncos showed a clear improvement in form and laid the foundation for victory before the last break. At this point, the Wipptalers were already leading 4-1. After that, they left nothing to burn and put the victory away.

SHC Fassa – HC Gherdeina

HC Gherdeina had to perform a much greater feat of strength to assert themselves against Fassa. The Ladins waited until extra time before Fabrizio Senoner scored the redeeming 3-2 winning goal. By winning two points in Canazei, Val Gardena has already secured its place in the Master Round one game day before the end of the regular season.

SG Cortina – HC Neumarkt HC Neumarkt is really picking up speed in time for the start of the crucial phase of the season. The Unterlanders celebrated a shutout victory in the Olympic Stadium in Cortina and remained unbeaten for the third time in a row. The Wild Goose's decisive goals were scored by Michael Sullmann and Steve Pelletier. Neumarkt now even has a chance of overtaking ninth-placed Eppan on the last matchday.

The penultimate matchday of the regular season was the round of underdogs: bottom team Kaltern defeated local rivals Eppan, Ritten brought down Ligakrösus Asiago, Vipiteno defeated Valpellice and Neumarkt celebrated in Cortina. Meanwhile, Pustertal and Val Gardena had to work overtime.
