Ritten plans with local players

The sting is too deep to allow the foreigners, who played dispassionately from last season, to give another vote of confidence. Brendan Buckley, Kevin Baker and Co. have to look for a new employer. Meanwhile, they are willing to continue to bind top performers Frederic Cloutier and Dan Tudin to the club. However, this undertaking is likely to be extremely difficult, especially with the French-Canadian goalkeeper. HC Pustertal is supposed to lure him with a lucrative offer.

While only departures have been reported among transfer card players so far, squad planning is currently being pushed forward with the local skid cracks. The goal of the Ritten club leadership is to maintain the team structure from last season, consisting of the South Tyrolean players, unchanged. Will Alexander Eisath return?

Neo-coach Greg Holst will probably be able to welcome another new local player at the start of the season: Alexander Eisath will probably put on the “Rittner Buam” jersey next season. The 24-year-old Rittner native and son of club president Georg Eisath left the Rittner youth sector for North America six years ago. There he last laced up his skates for four seasons in the third division of the US college championship NCAA for Salem State College.

In the past season, the striker had seven points in 25 matches. In total, he played 61 times in the NCAA and collected 13 points (3 goals, 10 assists). In his first two years in North America he played for the Northern Cyclones in the AtJHL youth league and scored 81 points in 106 appearances. In 2005, the 24-year-old won the bronze medal with Italy at the U20 World Cup. Eisath will soon complete his economics studies and return to South Tyrol. Supposedly his upcoming commitment to his hometown club is already in the clear, which should mean that a further step has been taken in the squad planning for next season.

The Ritten Sport club management has put the turbulent, disappointing 2010/11 season behind it and has long since started planning for the coming season. The top priority here is for the local players, while there will probably be a radical cut for the transfer card players.
