Ritten strikes back in Cortina

Ritten coach Riku Lehtonen confirmed his team today, while the old champions still had to make do without the suspended Nicola Fontanive and the injured Ronny De Zanna.

The guests started like the fire department and took the lead after just 40 seconds. Oscar Ahlström reacted quickest to goalkeeper Marco de Filippo Roia's rebound and scored to make it 1-0. It was the Swedish attacker's 22nd goal of the season. Cortina equalized in the 13.28:1 minute. When Thomas Spinell had to go to the penalty box for two minutes, the puck went to Zak Torquato, who made it 1-XNUMX. Immediately afterwards, Riley Brace also tried, but the Canadian was denied by goalie Patrick Killeen.

In the middle third, Ritten picked up the pace and took the lead again. Alex Frei scored after a pass from Markus Spinell to make it 2-1. Just 104 seconds later, the Italian champions were able to celebrate again. The Italian international striker Tommaso Traversa increased the score to 3-1. Shortly afterwards, Ritten made the preliminary decision with his third goal within six minutes. In the power play it was Alex Frei again who gave Marco de Filippo the loss with his second goal. But the home team didn't give up and in the 32nd minute they reduced the deficit once again in an exciting way with Edoardo Caletti in the lead (Fabian Ebner had to go into the cooler).

In the final third, Ritten controlled the game, while Cortina could no longer gain momentum. The home team threw everything forward and had good chances, but were repeatedly denied by the strong Patrick Killeen. On the other side, Victor Ahlström did better, making the final score 5-2 in a power play three minutes before the end of the game.

Thanks to this victory, Ritten equalized the series at 1-1. Game 3 is scheduled for Saturday, March 25th at 20.00 p.m. in Klobenstein. In the second semi-final game, Jesenice also made it 6-4 thanks to the 1-1 home win against Asiago.
