Ritten and Asiago are playing for the Italian championship title

The Buam had to wait a long time for the opening goal in front of their home crowd. It wasn't until the middle third that Philipp Pechlaner shot the home team into the lead in an overall balanced game. When Vallini rebounded, Pechlaner was in the right spot and slotted in to make it 1-0. Defender Ivan Tauferer scored the final point for the Rittners a minute before the end, who scored into the empty goal to make it 2-0. Daniel Erlacher's goal was just a cosmetic result. With the 2-1 home win, defending champion Ritten is once again in the final for the Italian championship title in Serie A. The Buam won the first leg on Tuesday evening in Sterzing 4-3. In the final on Saturday against Asiago, the Rittners have the chance to win the Italian championship title for the fifth time in their club history.

The final stop for the wolves was in the semi-finals. HC Pustertal suffered a 1-2 defeat at home against Asiago. After a goalless first third, the “Stellati” took the lead in the 28th minute through Alexander Gellert. 90 seconds later, Marco Rosa Gonzales made it 0-2 on the power play. Less than three minutes before the end, Max Oberrauch scored in the majority to make the final score 1:2. After the 2-2 draw in the first leg, HC Pustertal missed out on a place in the Serie A final.

Final Ritten against Asiago

In the final, Ritten will face long-term rivals Asiago at the Odegar Stadium on Saturday. Ritten will be able to enjoy home advantage in this final. The final first leg will take place on Saturday, January 26th in Asiago, while the second leg will take place 24 hours later in Klobenstein.

Defending champion Ritten is once again in the final for the “Scudetto”. The Buam won 2-1 against the Wipptal Broncos on Thursday evening. HC Pustertal failed with a 1-2 home defeat in the semi-final against Asiago.
