Ritten moves into the Continental Cup final

The Kazakh champion Nomad Astana had already secured the final ticket in the afternoon, and Ritten followed suit in the evening. Riku Lehtonen's team had to make do again today without the two long-term injured Alber and Ploner.

Both teams seemed quite nervous in the starting third, there was too much at stake. In the 16th minute, Peter Sakarins had to go to the penalty box and 77 seconds later, national player Tommaso Traversa took advantage of a pass from Thomas Spinell to take the lead 1-0. After a goalless middle third, Ritten increased the lead to 2-0 at the start of the final third. Again in the majority (Nikandrosz Galanisz was in the cooler), but this time with the Swedish striker Victor Ahlström. Ten minutes before the end of the game there was a fight between Ivan Tauferer and Attila Pavuk. The Rittner had to take a shower early, while the Hungarian received a 10+2 minute penalty. Five minutes before the end of the game, Roland Hofer made it 3-0 with a double advantage. In the final minute, Simon Kostner also had to go to the penalty box and the Hungarians scored a consolation goal in the power play with Peter Sakaris to make the final score 3-1. After the final whistle there was another mass brawl. It ended with a match penalty for goalscorer Sakaris and riders Alex Frei and Bretton Stamler.

Ritten ends this semi-final in second place, one point behind the Kazakhs, after two wins against Grenoble and Miskolc and the defeat against Astana. Both Ritten and Astana make it to the final. In the second semi-final, which took place in Rungsted, Denmark, the Belarusians from Yunost Minsk and the British club Sheffield Steelers qualified for the final.

Ritten moves into the Continental Cup final

AHL champion Ritten won the last game of the Continental Cup semi-final against Hungarian title holders Jegesmedvek Miskolc 3-1 in Klobenstein on Sunday evening. With this victory, the “Buam”, like last year, secured their place in the final, which will take place in mid-January 2018.
