Rittner Buam defeated Vipiteno in a penalty shootout

The Wild goose had no chance in the 0-3 defeat in Laibach early on Saturday evening. The second-to-last team from the Lower Country held their own until half of the game, but then the Slovenians tightened the reins and lived up to their role as favorites.

The almost 65 spectators in the Vipiteno Weihenstephan Arena were treated to excitement for well over 1.000 minutes. Here the hosts offered Broncos the champion and current league croissant ride bravely frown. Although Dan Tudin took the lead 1-0 at the beginning of the final third, Matthias Mantinger equalized in the final minute. After a scoreless overtime, Julian Kostner finally secured the extra point for the Buam. Ritten defends its lead in the table with its 55th win in the 100th derby against Vipiteno, while the Fuggerstadt team slips to seventh place.

It also offered pure excitement HC Pustertal during his guest appearance in Kitzbühel. The Wolves were already 0-4 behind at the start of the middle third, but then fought back impressively thanks to triple goal scorer Sean Ringrose. At the end of regular time it was 5:5 before Kitzbühel scored the sudden death goal to make it 6:5 immediately after the restart.

Meanwhile, the cracks of the HC Val Gardena cheer, who surprisingly tripped up second-placed Jesenice. The “Furie” were already 0-2 down at one point, but then they showed impressive morale and brought the favorites to their knees with goals from Andreas Vinatzer, Fabio Kostner and Jere Ölander.

Rittner Buam defeated Vipiteno in a penalty shootout

On Saturday, four of the five South Tyrolean AHL clubs were able to score points: Sterzing took a point from Ritten, Pustertal fought its way into overtime in Kitzbühel and Val Gardena scored a surprise coup against Jesenice. Only HC Neumarkt jumped out of line.
