Rittner Buam: Start of the season and lots of test games

The reigning AHL and Italian champion Ritten has been back on the ice since last Monday. Starting next week, the “Buam” will be back in action for the first time. In addition to many old faces, Ritten fans will also be able to see newcomer Andreas Lutz. The defender, who was already under contract with Ritten in the 2005/06 season, will celebrate his comeback in the jersey of the Italian champions next Friday against the Ravensburg Towerstars.

The DEL2 league team Ravensburg, on the other hand, celebrated their pre-season debut on Friday. The Baden-Württemberg team clearly lost their opening match against the Schwenninger Wild Wings 1:6. This Saturday they are in action against HC Thurgau.

After Ravensburg comes Pustertal on the Ritten

The Rittners will also face other attractive opponents in their preparation for the championship. Less than 48 hours after the showdown with Ravensburg, fans from all over South Tyrol can now look forward to the match dates of the Alperia Cup, in which, in addition to Ritten, their league rivals HC Pustertal and EBEL representative HC Bozen Südtirol will also be at the start. The “Buam” first host HC Pustertal on Sunday, August 27th, followed by HC Bozen four days later. This result also counts for the “Rittner Tournament”, which takes place from August 31st to September 2nd. In addition to the two traditional South Tyrolean clubs, the Fischtown Pinguins from the DEL and the two-time Swiss champions EHC Visp Lions will also be playing. On September 2nd, Ritten will play either the final or the game for third place in the four-person tournament.

Just three days later, the German second division team SC Riessersee comes to Klobenstein. This is also the last acid test with regard to the start of the AHL season on September 13th in Laibach.
