At the start of the best-of-seven series, the Wolves Fiat Professional lost 2:5 against Asiago in the playoff semi-finals. The outstanding player on the ice was Layne Ulmer, who scored three goals. Valpellice took advantage of their home advantage in the first playoff semi-final and narrowly beat Cortina. The club from Piedmont won 1-0 thanks to Rob Sirianni's goal. Then it was the hosts' turn again, but Ihnacak was unable to capitalize on an assist from Sirianni. In the 51st minute, Pietro Canale launched an individual attack, but had to admit defeat in a duel with Levasseur. Cortina could have equalized straight away when Gron pulled away, Parise was only able to fend it off briefly and Anderson's puck slid back towards the Valpellice goal. The home team's goalkeeper did a great job of scraping the target off the line. With 120 seconds left in regulation time, Parise distinguished himself again when he destroyed Edwardson's last chance of the game. Valpellice remained narrowly successful at the start of this best-of-seven series.
