Series A: Ritten, Pustertal and Eppan celebrate

The spectators in Eppan saw a great derby, which ended 5:4 in favor of the Pirates after a penalty shootout. In the first third, the guests from Val Gardena dominated the action and were already leading 2-0 thanks to goals from Nigro and Veggiato. But the home team hit back impressively with a strong performance in the middle third. Lacroix and Ceresa equalized before Platter and Raffeiner put the yellow-blue team ahead 4-2. In the final section of the game, Bergenzer first shortened the score before Newton equalized for the “Furie”. Not much happened in extra time. Fabian Ebner ultimately became the hero of the game in the penalty shootout.

SHC Fassa – HC Pustertal Wölfe

The Trentino team was able to keep the match open for a third. After 20 minutes, Fassa even led 1-0 after Vidgren's goal. But in the second period the Wolves showed their claws and pulled away to 7:2. In the final third of an extremely hard-fought game with a lot of penalty times, both sides scored a goal, so that the match ended 9:3 in favor of the Pusterers.

HC Neumarkt Riwega – Rittner Buam

Neumarkt had no chance against master Ritten, who concluded a successful “English week”. Both teams had to go into the match with weakened substitutes. After a goalless first third, Ploner and Johansson put the Buam on the road to victory. With Johansson's second goal to make it 3-0, a preliminary decision had been made, although Manuel Bertignoll scored the next goal shortly afterwards. But just 12 seconds after the 1:3, Tudin finally broke the wild geese's neck. Neumarkt's goalie Tragust was in good shape and prevented an even greater defeat with some brilliant deeds.

SV Kaltern Rothoblaas – HC Valpellice Bodino

It wasn't because of the commitment and will to win that the Hechte lost 0-4 to Valpellice in front of their own crowd on Saturday evening. Uronen gave the guests from Piedmont the lead. After that, not much happened for a long time before Campbell, Uronen and Pozzi increased the result. Bitter defeat for Kaltern, which did not reward itself for a strong fighting performance.

Migross Asiago – WSV Vipiteno Weihenstephan

The match between Asiago and Sterzing was very even for two thirds. Both goalkeepers went above and beyond and ensured that the score was still 40-0 after 0 minutes. The spell was finally broken by Mirko Presti, who scored the only goal of the game in the 46th minute to make the decision in favor of the home team.

The 14th matchday of the highest Italian ice hockey championship was marked by many exciting games. Of the South Tyrolean clubs, Rittner Buam, HC Pustertal Wölfe and HC Eppan were able to celebrate.
