Series A2: Eppan wins derby against Meran 8:6

The “Pirates” were already leading 6-2 twelve minutes before the end of the game. The encounter seemed to be over, but Meran didn't give up and got within 5:6 two minutes before the final siren. In the last 70 seconds of the game, three more goals were scored to make the final score 8:6 for Eppan. Peter Campbell scored the final goal, it was his fourth goal in this game, his 36th in the championship. Nobody scored that often on the A2 this year.

Vipiteno clearly won the second South Tyrolean derby of the evening at home against Kaltern with 8:3 goals. Paolo Bustreo and Randall Gelech each scored three goals for Wipptal. With this win, the Broncos Neumarkt reach second place in the table.

Val Gardena is warming up for the Italian Cup Val Gardena remains the front runner. Ron Ivany's team, which will contest the Italian Cup final round with Pustertal, Ritten and Bozen in the Eiswelle next weekend, had no trouble in Turin and won 7:4. Jamie Schaafsma scored twice.

EV Bozen 84, however, suffered their 26th defeat in their 26th game. In Milan, the Talferstadt team lost 2:6. The next match day will take place on Sunday, January 16th.
