The semi-final series between Val Gardena and Neumarkt is not for the faint of heart: After the Ladins had moved ahead 2-0, the “Wildgänse” hit back with two wins in a row. With a truly brilliant performance last Sunday in Neumarkt, Val Gardena gave the duel another turnaround. Now coach Erwin Kostner's team has the chance to close the sack in front of their home crowd. The Val Gardena trainer will primarily rely on Wallenberg, Stampfer and Schaafsma, who have been playing well recently. Between the posts, Großgasteiger has exuded an incredible sense of confidence in recent weeks, such as on the last match day in the Würth Arena when he surpassed himself on several occasions. Kostner will also route the entire squad in the seventh semi-final game and thus give his players enough breaks. Only the suspended Kevin Senoner has to pass.

The situation is completely different at HC Neumarkt, which relies on the effectiveness of its top performers in order not to say goodbye to the championship race prematurely. This was missing in the previous games against Val Gardena. This may be at least partly due to the fact that the injured Domenico Perna lacks the driving force on offense. Now it is particularly up to the Faggioni-Ciresa-Peiti attack line to take the coals out of the fire. She has shown over the course of the season so far that she has enormous potential and can decide games single-handedly. In addition, Stricker and Virta are in excellent form. These strengths must be exploited on Wednesday in order to extend the series and play the all-important seventh semi-final game in front of our own team.
