HC Gherdeina caused the first big surprise with a confident 3-0 win in the Sterzing Weihenstephan Arena. The Broncos went into the game badly handicapped because, in addition to the long-term injured Stefan Ramoser and Daniel Erlacher, Daniel Maffia (concussion) and top performer TJ Caig (groin problems) also had to miss. Kevin Larch also couldn't play. The Val Gardena coaching team Prior-Linder, on the other hand, was able to make the most of it. The first third was characterized by tactical scanning. The HCG knew very well how to nip Wipptaler's attacks in the bud and at the same time repeatedly ensure counterattacks. In the first power play of the game, the guests finally took the lead: Kevin Senoner scored from a commotion in front of the Vipiteno goal. The home team only became really dangerous in the 15th minute when Tobias Kofler failed to push the puck over the line. Vipiteno tried to push forward, but Val Gardena came much closer to scoring. Kevin Senoner initially failed to beat Corsi from close range, then Ivan Demetz, Fabrizio Senoner and Fabio Kostner tried. At the start of the final third, Tobias Kofler missed the equalizer. The guests then took the scepter back into their hands. Once again a power play led to a goal: Mitch Stephens was brilliantly put in the spotlight by Kevin Senoner and made it 2-0. Now the wild horses' resistance was definitely broken and Val Gardena was even allowed to take part for the third time. Rupert Stampfer - how could it be otherwise - hit the net for the third time in the Powerlpay. This was also the last highlight of the game.

Eppan did the same as Val Gardena and turned the balance of power against Neumarkt on its head with a 3-1 win. Both teams competed at the start of the semi-finals with their best players. Robert Raffeiner and Alex Rottensteiner returned to the team for the Pirates. It was the guests who stepped on the accelerator from the start and got off to a real lightning start. After just 38 seconds, Jake Newton hit the mark for the first time, and less than a minute later Alex Jaitner even increased the score to 2-0. Neumarkt probably didn't expect the Überetscher team to get off to such a furious start, as Michael Sullmann and Co. needed some time before they found their way into the game. However, Demetz was always on guard and thwarted the home side's counterattacks. The people from Eppan were far more callous, as they didn't show any signs of tiredness from the quarter-final series against Kaltern. After 26.43 minutes, Philipp Platter extended the lead to 3-0. The game was practically decided, as Neumarkt continued to play extremely slowly in the third period. However, Eppan became a little more careless and allowed Rudi Locatin to score a consolation goal after 56.58 minutes. But it was already too late for the Unterlanders to successfully catch up. They are now under pressure in game two in Eppan on Friday.
