Series B: The leader slides into a debacle

The wild geese, who had repeatedly stumbled in recent weeks, gave the front runner from Kaltern a lesson. Driven by triple goal scorer Paolo Bustreo, the HCN swept the Hechte off the ice 8-0.

HC Meran took advantage of the Überetscher defeat to move within three points of the top of the table with a 6:4 win against Rittner Buam. The team from the high plateau still has to worry about taking part in the playoffs in ninth place.

The Aurora Frogs and HC Eppan also achieved significant victories at the weekend. The Unterlanders shot down Como - driven by Stefan Vill (three goals) - 11:1, while the Pirates had just as little trouble with the 6:1 win in Feltre. Here Lorenz Röggl hit the mark three times.

In the lower half of the table, AHC Vinschgau continues to make up ground with a convincing 4-1 home win against champions Alleghe. Neighbors in the table HC Pustertal, however, were defeated 2-8 in Chiavenna.
