Serie B: Kaltern wins the top game against Merano

And the duel kept its promise: the two teams had a great exchange of blows, which Kaltern ultimately won in the penalty shootout. Beforehand, the almost 700 spectators saw a varied game that was exciting at every moment - and in which front-runner Kaltern had to tremble, especially at the beginning. Meran was the team that dominated the game in the first third and took a 2-0 lead thanks to a brace from Manuel Lo Presti. The Überetsch guests first had to digest that, but they equalized in the second third through Michael Felderer, before Manuel Gamper and Lorenz Daccordo turned the game on its head in the last 20 minutes - Kaltern suddenly led in Meran, a victory was within reach. But the strong Manuel Lo Presti saved his team in extra time, but there was no winner. So the extra point had to be awarded in the penalty shootout, with Kalterer Christian Ambach making the decision with his converted attempt. The second duel with South Tyrolean participation was also very exciting: Eppan and Pergine fought a shooting match that ended 4-4 after regular playing time. Here, too, the penalty shootout had to be used to determine the winner and here too the Überetsch team had the better end thanks to Alex Jaitner's goal. In the third duel of the evening, Alleghe won 4-2 against HC Feltreghiaccio.

Three games of the domestic hockey Serie B took place on Thursday evening. The duel between Kaltern and Merano overshadowed everything. In the spa town, the second-placed home team met the leaders from Überetsch.
