Showdown: Two teams duel for a playoff ticket

The two South Tyrolean teams take first and second place in qualifying district B. Only the group winner advances to the quarter-finals. In the home game against the Broncos, HC Neumarkt will try to defend their one-point lead and save it to the finish.

The Wild Goose have won six of the previous seven intermediate round games. The only defeat resulted from the duel with Vipiteno. In the Wipptal, Alex Sullmann & Co. were defeated 2-7. In the regular season, however, they held their own in both meetings with the Broncos. Excitement is guaranteed on Saturday from 19.30 p.m. in the Würtarena.

Pustertal wants to return to second place

The die has already been cast in Qualification Round A. Cortina already has the playoff ticket in its pocket, pursuers Val Gardena want to say goodbye with honor in Salzburg.

In the Master Round, however, the race for second place is sure to be explosive. The current runners-up Asiago have to play against the established group winners Ritten, while Pustertal welcomes Lustenau at home. The Wolves want to regain second position with a win. However, if they lose, they risk slipping to fourth place behind Jesenice.

Today the last 60 minutes of the intermediate round will be played in the Alps Hockey League. Seven of the eight playoff participants have already been determined, with Neumarkt and Vipiteno vying for the last available place.
