Slovenia gives Italy seven pieces

In the last game for the Italian national team as part of the three-day ice hockey tournament, Coach Mair shuffled the lines again and gave Helfer, Ansoldi and Frei a break. Defenders Roland Hofer and Ruben Rampazzo returned to the squad, who was used in the fourth block with Ivan Demetz and Goi. Mark Demetz made his debut in goal with Bernard as backup, Felicetti, Kostner and Tudin played in the first line of attack. In the second block, however, Giovanni Morini was used together with Ihnacak and Di Casmirro.

First third balanced The game got off to a lively start. Slovenia took control of the game in the early stages, the “Azzurri” let their guard down and sought their salvation in quick counterattacks. As Italy slowly became stronger, a goal was scored when they were outnumbered. Trivellato lost the puck at the blue line, Ticar pulled away alone to Demetz and caught the Val Gardena goalie cold between the pads.

Slovenia rushes away In the middle third, the Blue Team was unable to make any impact in front of Kroselj's box. But Slovenia was all the more effective. Ratzingar got through the boards, fed Urbas and the score was 2-0 (22.07). A little later it was Ticar who gave way to the blameless Demetz at the second attempt. After just over half an hour, Italy was unable to take advantage of a double advantage situation. As soon as this power play was over, Rodman scored from an almost impossible position to make it 4-0. With that the game was decided.

The players from the small Alpine republic remained in control in the final third and scored three more goals through Podlipnik, Pretnar and Verlic. For Italy, the Euro Ice Hockey Challenge ends with one win and two defeats.
