Stefan Mair brings numerous debutants into the national team

When the “Azzurri” are on the ice together for the first time on Monday, most of the regular players will not be there. Stefan Mair wants to give debutants the chance to prove themselves in the coming weeks and recommend them for further roles in the national team. “We use the training camp to see how the young international talents perform. This summer is perfect for that,” says Mair. The highlight of the coming season is the World Cup in Division I, which will take place from April 22nd to 28th, 2018.

As in the previous two years, the Blue Team will play several friendly games against teams from the Russian KHL this year. It starts with a meeting with Avangard Omsk, which is scheduled for July 29th in Füssen, Germany. A few days later, Markus Gander and Co. meet Vityaz twice. The “Azzurri” already faced the club from the city of Podolsk last year. At that time there was a 3:5 and a 1:5 defeat.
