Stefan Zisser: "A win would be good for our self-confidence"

Sunday's victory reignited the euphoria among HC Bozen and its fans. With the two points against the second-placed team, Egger and Co. have shown that they are a force to be reckoned with this season too. Now, however, we need to make up more ground in the table in order to get closer to qualifying for the playoffs. The reigning champions already have the chance to do so this evening in the home game against SAPA Fehervar, which is scheduled for 19.45:XNUMX p.m. The team from Hungary is in fifth place in the table, two points ahead of the HCB. “We are going into the game with confidence,” explains Bozen veteran Stefan Zisser, who, however, still sees a long way to go: “A win on Friday would further increase our self-confidence, but it would not automatically solve all the problems. Not everything is going according to plan for us. This has to slowly get better from game to game.”

HCB on the hunt for goals

Coach Mario Simioni undoubtedly has a large open construction site on the offensive. 28 goals in 14 league games are simply not enough to move into the top third of the table. Only Ljubljana and Dornbirn were more harmless in front of the opponent's goal. “We seemed very unsettled in front of the goal at times. However, things have been going better recently and I am sure that we will significantly increase our goal tally in the coming games,” promises Zisser. On the other hand, the HCB has a very strong goalie in Jaroslav Hübl, who has maintained the outstanding form from the championship season. Zisser also underlines this: “It’s impressive how many points he has already secured for us. That’s also the nice thing about team sports: If things aren’t going well for the strikers, others – in this case the defense around Hübl – step into the breach.”

“We can beat any opponent”

The veteran of the White-Reds already has a recipe for success ready for the game against SAPA: “We face an extremely unpleasant opponent. Only if we work with great concentration and discipline, as we did last weekend, can we leave the ice as winners. If we manage to build on our performance from the Graz game, we can beat any opponent.”

Cullen makes a comeback

Bozen will have to make do in the duel with Fehervar without Roland Hofer, who will be unavailable for a longer period of time due to injury. Matt Cullen, who was recently injured, returns to the ice.
