The 18-year-old South Tyrolean, who recently became a US citizen, was drafted by the Washington Capitals in June (SportNews reported). Di Pauli, who won a U12 title with Kaltern in Italy and was once champion with the U14 team in Bolzano, can also look back on many successes in the USA, including the World Cup title with the U18 national team. This title paved the way for him to be drafted into the NHL. He was chosen by Washington, which sent him on to the University of Notre Dame in the NCAA.
