Ivan, you have been one of the important pillars of HCG for years and have a lot of experience. Is it a challenge for you to be a leader? Ivan Demetz: “I always see every season as a new challenge. This fact motivates me even more. I always try to do my best for my team and help where I can.”

With 40 points, last season was the most successful of your entire career. Almost according to the motto: the older, the better? ID: “If you look at the list of scorers, it was certainly a great personal success, but I think the success of the team always comes first. Other seasons have certainly gone better in this respect.”

What does playing ice hockey mean to you? ID: “Ice hockey is my great passion. I have been doing this sport with great joy since I was four years old!”

What does a good center need to be successful? ID: “First and foremost, he has to score goals on offense, but also take responsibility defensively.”

What was your favorite moment in ice hockey that you remember? ID: “There are several moments, winning the Italian Cup with Pontebba is certainly at the forefront. But all the friendships that have developed with fellow players are also very important.”
