Goal festival in Milan: Ritten wins the Supercup

With this victory, Ritten wins the Supercup for the third time in the club's history after three defeats in a row.

The “Buam” did without their foreigners on Saturday, as Milan also has no foreigners in the squad. Coach Riku Lehtonen left both Canadian goalie Patrick Killeen and the two Swedish twins Oscar and Victor Ahlström at home. Instead of Killeen, backup Hannes Treibenreif guarded the Rittner box, while Tommaso Traversa, Dan Tudin and Thomas Spinell played in the parade block. Simon Kostner, however, played with Frei and Julian Kostner. As always, Lehtonen offered four attacking blocks.

Clear conditions already in the first third The Rittners actually made everything clear in the first third. After just 2.46 minutes, Dan Tudin converted a pass from Thomas Spinell to make it 1-0. The guests continued to push and had the next big chance with Tommaso Traversa, but the “Azzurro” only hit the post. In the 7.11 minute, the “Buam” with Julian Kostner increased to 2-0 after wonderful preparatory work by captain Christian Borgatello. A little later, Markus Spinell missed a penalty before Dan Tudin took advantage of a mistake by goalie Alessandro Tura shortly before the first period break to make it 3-0.

Immediately after the restart, Milan reduced the lead to 1:3 with Alessandro Re (Kevin Fink was in the penalty box), but defender Ivan Tauferer restored the three-goal lead in the 25th minute, also in the power play. But the home team didn't give up and scored another goal five minutes later with Marcello Borghi. Once again the Rittners had an answer ready with Traversa, who stayed cool in front of Alessandro Tura and scored to make it 5-2.

Hat trick by Dan Tudin In the 42nd minute, Ritten scored the next goal despite being outnumbered. Again it was Dan Tudin who increased the score to 6:2 with his personal hat trick. Milan's Andrea Vanelli made it 3:6 seven minutes before the end of the game, but the next Rittner goals from Simon Kostner and Alex Frei followed immediately afterwards.

Thanks to this victory, the Lehtonen team took revenge on the Milanese team, who beat “Buam” 2006-6 in the 2 Supercup final.

Goal festival in Milan: Ritten wins the Supercup

The Supercup final, which took place in the Agorà Stadium in Milan, ends with the victory of the Rittner Buam. The Serie A and AHL champions defeated host Milano Rossoblù 8-3 in the highest-scoring Super Cup final in history on Saturday evening.
