Tudin and Borgatello extend the “Rittner Buam”

Dan Tudin is already entering his tenth season with the club from the South Tyrolean plateau. In his new Serie A championships (from 2006 to date), the 36-year-old from Orleans, Ontario has a total of 497 scorer points in 437 championship games. Tudin is a valuable support for the “Buam”. After all, he won the Italian Championship with them once (2013/14), the Italian Cup three times (2009/10, 2013/14 and 2014/15) and the Supercup twice (2009 and 2010). In the last Serie A championship, in which the Ritten secured second place behind Asiago, the attacker scored 54 goals and 18 assists in 25 championship games.

Borgatello is entering his second season with the “Rittner Buam” Christian Borgatello was also confirmed. The 33-year-old grew up in the youth teams of HC Meran. In 1998 - he was only 16 at the time - he began his career at HC Latsch in the A2 series. The Passerstädter played 14 games for the Vinschgers and scored 14 points (5 goals and 9 assists). From 1999 to 2004 he played for HC Meran in the top Italian league and made 186 appearances and 50 points (13 goals and 37 assists) in five championships. When the Merano team decided not to take part in Serie A again for financial reasons, Borgatello moved abroad for the first time to the Dundee Stars in Scotland and the Basingstoke Bison to the English elite league. In 2005 he returned to Italy and immediately became Italian champions with Milan. In 92 championship games for the Vipers Milan he had 39 points (12 goals and 27 assists).

Five championship titles

He then moved to HC Bozen and immediately won the championship title and the Supercup with the white-reds. The following year he even achieved the triple with the championship, the Italian Cup and the Supercup. At the end of the season he was named the best Italian player in the entire Serie A. In the summer of 2011, “Skizzo” took the plunge into the EBEL. After 19 games, one goal and three assists, he turned his back on SAPA Fehervar AV19 and rejoined the HCB. With this he celebrated the fifth championship title of his career (1999 with Meran, 2006 with Milan, 2008 and 2009 with Bolzano). In the 2012/13 season, Borgatello won the Supercup with Bozen and made it to the Final Four of the Continental Cup. In Serie A, however, the final stop was in the quarter-finals against Asiago. In total, the defender played 275 championship games for the HCB and scored 181 points (26 goals and 155 assists).

Two years ago the Burggräfler finally moved to the Puster Valley. With the Wolves, Borgatello played 58 championship games in which he recorded six goals and 28 assists before moving to Ritten last year. In the Buam jersey, Borgatello collected 55 points (seven goals and 39 assists) in 32 championship appearances. He also won the Italian Cup with the local first division team.

“After the great season last year with many ups and some downs, I am very confident that we can be at the top again this year. My goal is to get to the final with the team and then anything is possible,” said the defender.
