The U20 team is preparing for the World Cup in Ritten

The multi-day training camp of the Italian U5 national ice hockey team begins on December 20th in the “Ritten Arena” in Klobenstein and ends on December 10th. During the preparation phase, the final squad that will take part in the World Cup in Budapest will also be determined. In total, coach Erwin Kostner will take 20 field players and 2 goalkeepers with him to Hungary. In order to better check the players' form, two test matches against Japan (Division II, Group A) were also organized. The game will be played against the Land of the Rising Sun on December 6th from 15 p.m. and the next day from 10 a.m. After the two test matches, the final squad will also be announced.

After relegation to Division II at the 2015 World Cup in Vienna, the U20 national team is aiming for an immediate return to Division I. The teams of the same age from Ukraine, Slovenia, Poland, Great Britain and the home team Hungary are fighting for promotion.
