U20 World Cup: Italy manages to stay in the league early

Erwin Kostner's team, which beat Austria yesterday after an incredible comeback, celebrated its second World Cup victory against the strong Latvians today. On the fourth matchday of the World Cup, Austria beat Slovenia 7:3, while Belarus defeated the Norwegian national team 5:1 and was promoted to the top division with this success. Tomorrow is a rest day in Asiago. The “Azzurri” will return to the ice on Saturday at 20.30 p.m. and will face the Slovenians, who have already been relegated.

The fourth matchday of the IIHF U20 World Championship Division IA in Asiago was the day of decision-making: Belarus achieved promotion to the top division, while Slovenia had to be relegated. Italy, however, surprisingly defeated Latvia and secured early relegation in Division I.
