Before the Continental Cup: Stamler and Jean strengthen Ritten

Both newcomers will celebrate their championship debut in the Alps Hockey League next Tuesday in Bruneck against HC Pustertal. Afterwards they will also be available to coach Lehtonen for the Continental Cup.

Stamler should give the defense security

Bretton Stamler, known as a tough defender, played last year in the Danish league for Frederikshavn White Hawks, where he was even team captain. In 58 games, the 30-year-old Canadian had three goals and 14 assists. After the championship, Stamler decided to hang up his skates, but he will now play the AHL's top game next Tuesday against HC Pustertal and the Continental Cup compete with the “Buam”.

The 1,85 m tall and 94 kg defender was drafted by the WHL team Seattle Thunderbirds in the 2003-2004 season, where he played with current Rittner and friend Brad Cole until the 2007-08 season before moving to his hometown club Edmonton within the league Oil Kings changed. In 2008 he moved to the USports high school league at the University of New Brunswick, for which he played 138 games (66 scorer points). In 2012 he followed Brad Cole to the EHCL to the Las Vegas Wranglers, then after just 16 games he moved to league rivals Greenville Road Warriors. The following year, Stamler was loaned to the Hartford Wolf Pack in the AHL, for whom he was on the ice 39 times (eight points). After a short stint with the Gwinnett Gladiators (5 games), Stamler went to Europe in 2014, namely to the DEL. He first played a strong season for the Hamburg Freezers, before a one-year stint with the Augsburg Panthers. In total, he played 53 games in the German ice hockey league and collected 19 scorer points.

Jean is from North America

The 27-year-old American Kyle Jean (1,93 m x 98 kg) is in Michigan with his hometown club Sault Ste. Marie grew up. The attacker played with the Soo Indians Major Midget in the American youth league T2007EHL until 1, then he stormed for the Traverse City North Stars in the NAHL for three years, where he collected an impressive 133 points in 85 appearances. In 2010, Jean went straight to Lake Superior State University in the NCAA. Here he played two good championships and achieved 77 goals and 13 assists in 25 games. He then signed an entry contract with the top NHL club New York Rangers, but never made it to the first team. In 2012 he moved to the AHL to the Connecticut Whale, and a year later he played with Brad Cole and Bratton Stamler for the Hartford Wolf Pack. That same year, Jean moved to the ECHL to the Greenville Road Warriors. Here he scored 66 points in 89 games in two seasons. After a short loan at Charlotte Checkers and Lake Erie Monsters, he played 19 matches (seven points) in the Swedish second division with Asplöven. He then returned to the EHCL with the Idaho Steelheads in 2015 and had 130 points (81 goals and 28 assists) in 53 championship games. Like Stamler, Jean has been without a club since the start of the season.

Before the Continental Cup: Stamler and Jean strengthen Ritten

AHL and Italian champion Ritten has hit the transfer market again and signed two top players in Canadian defender Bretton Stamler and US attacker Kyle Jean.
