Ritten is currently on everyone's lips in the AlpsHL: Coach Santeri Heiskanen's men have been unbeaten for six rounds and recently consolidated third place in the table with their tenth win of the season. The next success story is set to take place on Thursday in the Olympic Stadium in Cortina. The Ampezzo team has been able to collect 15 points so far and is in eighth position in the ranking. However, they always seem particularly motivated to go on the ice against Ritten, as a look at the statistics books reveals.

The Buam have lost five of the last six direct duels against Cortina. Rittner's last success was on March 4, 2020, when the blue-reds prevailed 4-3 after extra time. In total, the two traditional clubs will face each other for the 157th time. The balance is very balanced: 74 games ended with a Ritten victory, 71 with a Cortina success and after 11 matches there was a draw.

The clash in Cortina is scheduled for Thursday at 20.30 p.m. At the same time, the purely South Tyrolean duel between HCM and HC Gherdëina will take place in the MeranArena. Both opponents have been thrown off course in recent weeks, with Val Gardena showing a clear improvement in form in its most recent two appearances, while Meran has now been pointless for four rounds. This encounter therefore has a groundbreaking character for both teams.

The Wipptal Broncos welcome EHC Lustenau on Thursday at 20 p.m. The Wipptalers were on a high for a long time, but have now suffered two bankruptcies in a row. There is a need to make amends both at home against Vorarlberger and on Saturday against table neighbors KAC II.

Meanwhile, in Pranives there will be a Ladin derby at the weekend between the Furies and the Falcons from Canazei. Meran travels over the Reschen Pass to Vorarlberg, where the next opponent, VEU Feldkirch, awaits. Dobbiaco polar bears squint upwards The sixth IHL round next Saturday is all about the South Tyrolean South-West duel between the Toblach Icebears and the Unterland Cavaliers. The Cavs rushed to the top of the table with an overtime win in Kaltern and now want to take sole command with their next away win. Toblach, on the other hand, is in lurking position after the defeat against Fiemme. With a win, the league newcomer could even overtake Unterland and Kaltern.

The Hechte, for their part, have to play in the difficult away game in Alleghe. On the other hand, the two other local IHL representatives have quite solvable home tasks waiting for them: Brixen welcomes the penultimate Varese, Eppan bottom club Como.
