Corona case in Scotland: Croatia “worried”

“We are worried, but unfortunately we have to play this game,” said coach Zlatko Dalic on Monday in Glasgow. Midfielder Gilmour has to go into a ten-day quarantine. Dalic said he hoped that there would be no further cases and that Gilmour would be healthy again soon. The coach turned his attention to the decisive group game on Tuesday (21.00 p.m.) in Glasgow, in which both teams need a win. But when asked about the Corona conditions and the fuss surrounding Gilmour, he also spoke about what he believes are not the same conditions for the teams at the European Football Championship. “We travel every three days, these are not good conditions,” he said. Croatia has its team headquarters at home due to the corona pandemic. The reason is the concern that if there is a positive corona case, the entire team may have to be quarantined. “The conditions should be the same for everyone. They are not the same for everyone.” The previous corona cases shortly before or during the European Championships did not result in team quarantine. Perisic wants to show his true face Croatia doesn't want to let the bad feeling stop them. “Before the European Championships, we knew that the third game would be the decisive one. It's the last chance. We want to seize them,” said Dalic. Winger Ivan Perisic regretted the lack of Croatian fans at the games on the island because of the entry and corona rules. “We have to concentrate on our game, our team and the win,” said Perisic when asked about Gilmour’s positive corona case. The former Bundesliga professional expects an increase in performance. So far, the true performance has not been shown, he said. "It will not be easy. But in the past we have always shown our true colors when we had to.”
