1st Amateur League: The spoilsport from the playground

Somehow the game between Schlanders and Schenna is reminiscent of a scene in the schoolyard during the long break. Two second-class footballers compete eagerly and ambitiously and deliver a balanced break. But then the Fritz from the A train has to step up his game again and bring his big brother from the fifth into the team, who, with his comparatively colossal stature, of course does whatever he wants against the little ones, scoring goals on a conveyor belt, the opponents so that the joy of the game is taken away and in the end you leave with a malicious laugh.

Schlanders found himself in a similar victim role on Sunday. Until the 54th minute, the Vinschgers team played on the same wavelength as table latecomer Schenna, i.e. the score was 0-0. But then a personnel change in the ranks of the Burggräfler threw things out of balance in the same way that three Sex On The Beach cocktails would throw a cocky teenager. After his substitution, Schenna's Thomas Mair provided excellent illustrations of how to dismantle an opponent into its individual parts within 20 minutes. Seen chronologically and soberly, Mair's working day can be described as follows:

54th minute: Substitution for an injured teammate. 61st minute: 1-0 with a penalty. 67th minute: 2-0 with a low shot after a fine combination. 74th minute: 4-0 in a one-on-one duel with the opposing goalkeeper after a great hole pass.

Only in the 3-0 game did the attacker, who is a very talented badminton player, not have his feet in the game. Nevertheless: An appearance for the showcase - or for the obscure museum of the football god mentioned at the beginning. There should be a place to be found somewhere.
