1st Amateur League | A piece of Ultner football history: The physics task

2:5 defeat against Terlan, 1:4 defeat against Gargazon – yes, there have been easier phases in the life of an Ulten player than the last two weeks. And on Sunday against Sarntal, too, there were a lot of signs that there would be another gamble: after 30 minutes of play, last year's 2nd amateur league champions had already been written off like our physics homework and were behind 0-3. But before the break, Ferdinando Antino's team came back like a phoenix from the ashes and restored the 2-3 lead thanks to goals from Somvi and Simon Breitenberger.

Instead, they fought back – even to the point where the score was 4:4 until shortly before the end. That alone would have been a small sensation. Simon Breitenberger made sure that in the end the little sensation became a piece of Ultimo football history. The striker succeeded in everything that day: he would have sold an old Nokia cell phone to an Apple fanatic or completed our physics assignments flawlessly and with extra hard work in the half hour after school ended. A Kreuzeck goal in the 90th minute with the weaker right foot for a 5-4 win seems a little normal. Incidentally, this was Breitenberger's third goal in the game, and he also shone once as a provider. And thus contributed significantly to the Ultner fairy tale in the Sarntal.
